Mumbai, 04 Dec (Commoditiescontrol): Ukraine's Sunflower Oil Market Faces Price Pressures Amid Policy Changes.The decline in sunflower seed prices in Ukraine slowed last week, but falling export prices for sunflower oil continue to pressure processors to lower raw material purchase prices. Sunflower seed delivery prices to processing plants currently stand at UAH 25,000–26,000 per ton.
Export demand for Ukrainian sunflower seeds may see a boost soon, as Turkey plans to abolish the 8% import duty within a quota from January 1 to April 30, 2025, while reducing duties for imports outside the quota. This development positions Turkey as a key buyer in the near term.
In parallel, Ukraine is transitioning from its sunflower export licensing regime to a minimum pricing mechanism, aimed at streamlining trade. However, the licensing requirement will remain in place for exports to Bulgaria and four other EU countries.
