Gujarat's Cumin Market Prices Remain Stable Amid Limited Trade

Ahmedabad, December 5 (CommoditiesControl): Gujarat's cumin market has been experiencing reduced arrivals and stable prices due to limited demand.

Traders attribute this stability to the recent volatility in cumin prices, which has now eased. Expectations of export trade growth after December 15, particularly linked to Ramzan demand in Gulf countries, may provide a much-needed boost to the market.

Key Market Highlights:
- Statewide Arrivals: Approximately 16,000 bags of cumin, each bag weighing 20 kg, arrived across Gujarat today.
- Unjha Market: The largest cumin market in Gujarat reported the arrival of 11,000 bags.
- Rough Cumin: ₹4,050-4,150 per 20 kg.
- Best Quality: ₹4,400-4,450 per 20 kg.
- Bombay Bold: ₹4,550-4,750 per 20 kg.

Mandi-Specific Updates:
- Gondal Mandi: 1,275 bags traded at ₹4,451-4,651 per 20 kg.
- Rajkot Mandi: 1,300 bags traded at ₹4,100-4,580 per 20 kg.

Jeeraunjha contract for DEC delivery settled at Rs 23715/quintal showing an fall of Rs -585 over previous close of Rs 24300/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 23640-24830 for the day. Open interest increased by 150 MT to 1389 MT, while trading volume increased by 408 to 942 MT

Jeeraunjha contract for JAN delivery settled at Rs 23675/quintal showing an fall of Rs -270 over previous close of Rs 23945/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 23510-24280 for the day. Open interest increased by 231 MT to 1647 MT, while trading volume increased by 186 to 888 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for MAR delivery settled at Rs 22915/quintal showing an fall of Rs -560 over previous close of Rs 23475/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 22850-23500 for the day. Open interest increased by 27 MT to 153 MT, while trading volume increased by 33 to 63 MT.

Currently The spread between DEC and JAN contract is 40 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between JAN and MAR contract is 760 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between DEC and MAR contract is 800 Rs/quintal
