MUMBAI, 07 Dec (Commoditiescontrol): The prices of peanuts in Gujarat have seen an upward trend, supported by forward trading in peanut oil. Today, the price of peanuts in Gujarat rose by 5-10 rupees per 20 kilograms. The price of loose peanut oil also increased to 1475 rupees per 10 kilograms. A total of 1500 tons of peanut oil were traded under delivery terms from January 1st to 10th. If similar trading activities continue in the coming days, peanut prices may continue to receive support.
In the Gondal market, the arrival of new peanuts was around 20,000-22,000 bags, while 24,105 bags were traded. The average quality of peanuts was priced between 1080-1150 rupees per 20 kilograms, while the best quality peanuts were sold for 1090-1235 rupees per 20 kilograms.
Meanwhile, in the Rajkot market, there were 105,000 bags (each weighing 35 kg) pending for sale. The average quality of peanuts was priced between 900-1200 rupees per 20 kilograms, while the best quality peanuts ranged from 870-1225 rupees per 20 kilograms. In Saurashtra, the total arrival of peanuts today was between 45,000-50,000 bags.
In North Gujarat, in the Disa market, there were 14,034 bags of peanuts, with prices ranging from 1000 to 1555 rupees per 20 kilograms. The Panthawada market saw 15,265 bags arrive, with prices ranging from 1000 to 1335 rupees per 20 kilograms. In the Palanpur market, 8324 bags arrived, with prices ranging from 1050 to 1330 rupees per 20 kilograms.
These fluctuations in the prices and arrivals reflect the complex dynamics of the peanut market in Gujarat and surrounding regions. The ongoing forward trading of peanut oil appears to be providing the necessary support to peanut prices in these markets.
