Ahmedabad, December 11 (CommoditiesControl): Coriander prices in Gujarat remain stable due to sluggish local and export demand. Traders indicate that the market will likely only see support if export demand picks up. Currently, there is no significant reason for a price rise, as the situation remains steady.
It is expected that the picture regarding coriander sowing will become clearer in the next 15-20 days. Additionally, the ongoing wedding season has resulted in lower selling from farmers, contributing to a decline in coriander arrivals over the past several days. As a result, prices have remained stable due to a lack of demand.
Today, around 7,000 bags of coriander, each bag weighing 40 kg, arrived in Gujarat. The average price for coriander in the state was quoted between Rs 1360 and Rs 1560 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, 3,835 bags were traded at Rs 1450-1560 per 20 kg, against an arrival of 3,500 bags. Rajkot Mandi saw 700 bags traded at Rs 1370-1530 per 20 kg, with an arrival of 700 bags. Moreover, arrivals of 1000 bags in Junagadh mandi, 300 bags in Jetpur mandi, 400 bags in Jamjodhpur mandi and another 500 bags in other mandis noted.
Overall, the lack of significant demand continues to weigh on the coriander market, leaving prices steady in the short term.
