Mumbai, 11 Dec (Commoditiescontrol): The Centre reported selling 12.35 lakh tonnes of Bharat Chana Dal, 5,663.07 tonnes of Bharat Moong Dal, and 118 tonnes of Bharat Masur Dal under the Bharat Dal initiative launched in July 2023. The scheme provides pulses at subsidized rates using the price stabilization buffer stock.
Chana Dal and Chana Whole are priced at ₹70/kg and ₹58/kg, respectively. Moong Dal is available at ₹107/kg (Dhuli) and ₹93/kg (Sabut), while Masur Dal is sold at ₹89/kg.
Under the Bharat Atta and Bharat Rice program, introduced in November 2023 and February 2024, products are sold at ₹30/kg and ₹34/kg, respectively, during Phase II (until June 30, 2024). Phase I recorded sales of 15.02 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of Bharat Atta and 14.58 LMT of Bharat Rice, while Phase II so far has sold 2,952.25 metric tonnes (MT) of Atta and 3,413.35 MT of Rice.
Distribution channels include NAFED, Kendriya Bhandar, NCCF, mobile vans, e-commerce platforms, and major retail chains. The update was shared by Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Shri B.L. Verma, in a written Lok Sabha response.
