Ahmedabad, January 18 (CommoditiesControl): Coriander prices in Gujarat have remained stable due to limited demand and an increase in arrivals, with no significant movements observed in the market. As the coriander is currently in its off-season, the market has been relatively quiet, and there has been little activity in terms of price fluctuations.
Traders believe that the market may see increased activity once the new coriander season begins around the end of February. Additionally, the market could receive support if there is an uptick in demand for export, but for now, there is little reason for significant price changes.
Today, approximately 5,600 bags (1 bag = 40 kg) of coriander arrived in Saurashtra, with the average price for coriander in the state ranging between Rs 1,400 to Rs 1,600 per 20 kg.
In specific markets:
- Gondal Mandi saw the arrival of 3,000 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 1,520 to Rs 1,720 per 20 kg. A total of 3,390 bags were traded.
- Rajkot market reported the arrival of 550 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 1,100 to Rs 1,750 per 20 kg. The coriander with a better color fetched higher prices.
- Other markets, such as Junagadh, Jetpur, and Jamjodhpur, also witnessed arrivals, with approximately 1,000, 200, and 325 bags respectively.
Overall, Gujarat's coriander market has remained stable, and price movements are expected to pick up once the new season begins and if export demand increases. For now, the market is largely driven by limited local demand and the ongoing off-season period.
