MUMBAI, 18 Jan (Commoditiescontrol): In the Saurashtra groundnut market, prices remained stable due to limited arrivals and subdued demand. According to traders, there is a possibility of price improvement if export demand for bold-quality groundnuts picks up ahead of Ramadan. However, they see little potential for a significant price rally.

A major concern for the region is the closure of processing units for bold-quality groundnuts due to a lack of export demand. Additionally, stocks of TJ-quality groundnuts from the Banaskantha region have almost been exhausted.

Today, groundnut arrivals in Gondal Mandi were approximately 18,000 bags, while trading volumes reached around 17,515 bags. Average-quality groundnuts were priced at ₹1,075–₹1,140 per 20 kg, and the best-quality groundnuts fetched ₹1,085–₹1,200 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, trading activity involved 12,000 bags, with 28,000 bags still pending. Average-quality groundnuts traded at ₹940–₹1,265 per 20 kg, while the best-quality lots were priced at ₹930–₹1,150 per 20 kg. Total arrivals in Saurashtra ranged between 25,000 and 30,000 bags today.

In North Gujarat, arrivals and prices showed some variation. In Deesa Mandi, 802 bags were received, and prices ranged between ₹1,110–₹1,130 per 20 kg. At Panthawada Mandi, 480 bags arrived, with prices ranging from ₹1,000–₹1,330 per 20 kg. In Palanpur Mandi, arrivals stood at 1,120 bags, with prices between ₹1,000–₹1,150 per 20 kg.

The groundnut market remains stable overall, with traders closely watching for any changes in export demand that could influence future price movements.
