Ahmedabad, January 20 (CommoditiesControl): Cotton prices in Gujarat remained stable on Monday as demand remained sluggish. The arrival of cotton in the state is gradually decreasing, and there was no significant movement in the Kapas market either. Traders are closely observing how the Kapas market develops in the coming days, especially in terms of how the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) engages in purchases, as the CCI's buying activity in Gujarat has been reported as very low.
As per the latest data from the Cotton Association of India (CAI), a total of 150.90 lakh bales (1 bale = 170 kg) of cotton have arrived across the country, with 26.66 lakh bales arriving in Gujarat.
Cotton Prices in Gujarat:
- The price of 29mm cotton in Gujarat ranged between Rs 53,700 and Rs 54,500 per candy (1 candy = 356 kg).
- The price of 28.5mm cotton was between Rs 52,800 and Rs 53,300 per candy.
- The price of V 797 cotton was reported between Rs 41,700 and Rs 42,000 per candy.
The average price of Kapas in Gujarat today was reported between Rs 1,350 and Rs 1,520 per maund, each maund weighing 20 kg. The total arrival of cotton in Gujarat today was 23,000 bales, each bale weighing 170 kg, maintaining the same trend as seen in recent days.
