Mumbai, January 20 (CommoditiesControl): Domestic clove prices have remained stable throughout the past month, with little to no fluctuation observed. Imported clove prices have also been flat for the last 10-12 sessions. As the domestic harvesting season begins, arrivals are increasing in key agricultural areas, contributing to the overall price stability.
In Shimoga, domestic clove prices were reported at Rs 940 per kilogram, while in Kottayam, prices ranged between Rs 910 and Rs 930 per kilogram, showing minimal change compared to the previous month. Clove stems in Kottayam were priced at Rs 138 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, international clove prices from key origins have remained consistent due to a limited supply of material. Cloves from Madagascar were priced between $8,200 and $8,300 per metric ton, while cloves from Indonesia were quoted between $7,300 and $7,500 per metric ton. In Kerala’s main markets, the price of Lalpari clove ranged between Rs 790 and Rs 800 per kilogram. Cloves from the Comoros were priced between Rs 730 and Rs 750 per kilogram, Madagascar cloves ranged between Rs 760 and Rs 780 per kilogram, and Sri Lankan cloves were priced between Rs 740 and Rs 760 per kilogram. All these prices remained unchanged from the previous day.
The steady supply of imported material, combined with the start of new domestic crop arrivals, is expected to keep prices in check in the coming days. With little price movement expected from either the domestic or international markets, the outlook for cloves appears stable.
