Ahmedabad, January 25 (CommoditiesControl): Coriander prices in Gujarat have seen a dip of Rs 40 per 20 kg over the past two days, as sluggish demand continues to weigh on market sentiment. Today, coriander prices softened by Rs 15-20 per 20 kg due to reduced arrivals and a lack of significant demand.
Traders in the region noted that most are now holding off on major purchases, waiting for the new coriander season to begin, which is expected in the next 15-20 days. The market trends in the coming weeks will largely be influenced by the volume of new arrivals.
Today's arrival in Saurashtra was recorded at around 6250 bags, each bag weighing 40 kg, with the average price ranging between Rs 1370-1570 per 20 kg. In Gondal Mandi, 3000 bags arrived, and 2900 bags were traded at prices between Rs 1500-1620 per 20 kg.
Rajkot Mandi saw the arrival of 800 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 1220-1715 per 20 kg. Other major markets, including Junagadh Mandi (1850 bags), Jetpur Mandi (100 bags), and Jamjodhpur Mandi (100 bags), also recorded smaller arrivals. Traders are anticipating that the market will become more active as the new crop season approaches.
