MUMBAI, 25 Jan (Commoditiescontrol): The groundnut market in Gujarat has remained stable over the past two days, with no significant increase in arrivals reported today. The market's trajectory largely depends on future selling trends in groundnuts. Currently, prices of groundnut oil and premium-quality groundnuts are lower. If prices in these segments recover, the groundnut market could witness an upswing.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat government's procurement process is in its final stages, and approximately 25% of the total arrivals in the region are ongoing. These arrivals are expected to continue for the next 10–12 days. The market's future movement will depend on trade trends during this period.
In Gondal mandi, the groundnut arrivals were approximately 15,000 bags today, with 14,275 bags traded. The average-quality groundnuts were priced between ₹1,070 and ₹1,100 per 20 kilograms, while the best-quality groundnuts were sold at ₹1,075 to ₹1,175 per 20 kilograms.
In Rajkot mandi, out of 25,000 bags of arrivals, trades were finalized for 10,000 bags, leaving a significant portion pending. Average-quality groundnuts were priced between ₹920 and ₹1,235 per 20 kilograms, while the best-quality groundnuts fetched ₹900 to ₹1,140 per 20 kilograms. Across the Saurashtra region, total arrivals were recorded at around 25,000 bags.
In northern Gujarat, Deesa Mandi witnessed arrival of 252 bags of groundnut at prices ranged between ₹1,020 and ₹1,100 per 20 kilograms. Patanvada Mandi received approximately 620 bags priced between ₹1,000 and ₹1,100 per 20 kilograms. Palanpur Mandi recorded total arrival of 811 bags, and price ranged between ₹1,050 and ₹1,250 per 20 kilograms. Himatnagar Mandi reported 3,500 bags arrival, with prices varying between ₹1,130 and ₹1,425 per 20 kilograms.
Market participants are closely monitoring trends, as the coming days will determine the direction of the groundnut trade in the region.
