Mumbai, June 8 (CommoditiesControl): The continued influx of summer peanuts into Banaskantha district has led to a slight decline in prices. If this trend persists, further downward pressure on prices is anticipated. Meanwhile, increased arrivals of old peanuts in Saurashtra have also contributed to a Rs. 5-10 softening in prices.
In Gondal Mandi, 16,500 bags were traded out of 15,000-17,000 bags arriving, with 15,000 bags pending. Average quality peanuts fetched Rs. 1,161-1,336 per 20 kg, while the best quality traded at Rs. 1,181-1,361. Additionally, 2,377 bags of new peanuts were traded at Rs. 1,171-1,336.
Rajkot Mandi saw trades from its 10,000 bag backlog, with average quality priced at Rs. 1,050-1,291 and best quality at Rs. 1,100-1,340 per 20 kg. Saurashtra received a total of 20,000-25,000 bags.
Himmatnagar Mandi traded 3,500 bags at Rs. 1,170-1,540 against an arrival of 3,000 bags. Deesa Mandi saw 20,209 bags arrive, priced at Rs. 1,320-1,455. Palanpur Mandi's 9,656 bag arrival was priced at Rs. 1,111-1,438, while Panthawada Mandi's 1,109 bags fetched Rs. 1,000-1,351 per 20 kg. North Gujarat saw a total arrival of approximately 34,000 bags.
The increased supply of both summer and old peanuts in key markets is contributing to price pressure. Market participants will be closely monitoring arrival trends in the coming days to gauge potential further price movements.
