Burma Lemon Tur:
Tur Lemon variety of Burma-origin continued its northward rally by Rs 400 to Rs 6,400/100Kg in Mumbai, on improved mill buying.
Similarly, domestic variety of Tur continued to trade higher by Rs 500 at Rs 6,775-6,800/100Kg at benchmark market Akola.
Arrivals were still below expectation during peak season due to lower than expected yields. Imports have halted.
Moreover, arrivals have thinned as farmers also hesitate to sell their stocks in open market.
Eyeing the trend, stockiest including corporates are buying Tur in large quantities, aiding price rise.
Meanwhile, millers are actively purchasing Tur at higher prices on immediate requirement for crushing as pipeline is empty. Earlier millers were sidelined in anticipation that the prices will slow down on arrivals pressure in February.
Tur dal prices are following the uptrend in raw Tur prices.
As on February 4, 2021, NAFED has procured 9708.02 MT of Tur at MSP of Rs 6,000/100Kg in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
According to our analysts, correction at higher rates cannot be ruled out. Buying opportunity likely be seen at lower rates as fundamentals of Tur is strong.
