Moong (Jaipur):

Moong prices declined by Rs 200 to Rs 6,400-6,800/100Kg at Jaipur market of Rajasthan, as per quality, amid thin mills buying support and ongoing summer crop new Moong arrivals in producing centres.

Demand and sale counters in processed Moong reported dull participation and traded lower by Rs 200 at Rs 7,800-8,000/100Kg.

On other hand, summer crop Moong moved higher this week after registration process for procurement in Madhya Pradesh began. The government agency will buy moong on its MSP at Rs 7,196/100Kg.

Farmers are holding moong and waiting for procure to start.

Summer crop new Moong traded in the range of Rs 6,000-6,500/100Kg as per quality compare to last week end of Rs 5,100-5,800/100kg.

Moong cultivation provides farmers with an opportunity to have a third crop in a year.

The MSP for Moong for marketing season 2021-22, has been raised from Rs 7,196 to Rs 7,275, up Rs 79 from last year.

Arrivals of Moong began in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Bihar. Moreover, farmers are still holding kharif crop Moong in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Arrivals and supplies stocked in godowns are reportedly enough to offset current requirements.

Mozambique origin Moong was priced at of $690-$700, Tanzania origin at $700-$720 and Kenya origin at $800-$850 per ton on cnf basis.

White Pea prices dropped for second straight week by Rs 100/100Kg to trade in a range of Rs 5,025/100Kg (dal quality) and Rs 5,100 (40% filter quality) at Kanpur market, due to thin trade activity from local and outstation markets.

As per Kanpur based trader, prices of White Pea are likely to get support as carryover stock is negligible. Moreover, imported White pea stock is also negligible after India banned the import of the yellow peas. Customs department has not released the imported pulses yet, as the release will contradict government’s existing policy.
