New Delhi, 22 July (Commoditiescontrol) Production of spices in the country is estimated to rise by 2.3 percent to 105.36 lakh tonnes in the crop year 2020-21 as per the official data released recently.
The output of cardamom has been pegged over 47.6 percent higher at 31,000 tonnes in the second advance estimates for horticulture crop 2020-21 released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
However, production of ajwain, fennel, cumin seed and turmeric is estimated lower. As per the official data, production of chillies, coriander, cardamom and mint has been estimated higher.
