Mumbai, 28 July (Commoditiescontrol) The farmers of Argentina have already liquidated over 59 percent of the soybean crop-size estimated by the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange at 43.5 million tonnes for the season 2020-21, however, the pace of sales of oilseed is reported lagging behind that of last year.
A report on Tuesday quoted, the Agriculture Ministry of Argentina saying that farmers of the country have sold 25.8 million tonnes of soybeans from the current 2020-21 crop year, after transactions were recorded over the last week for 747,600 tonnes. The report has mentioned the data by July 21.
As per the report, sales of 27.9 million tonnes of the oilseed had been registered at the corresponding point of time last year.
The Buenos Aires Grains Exchange has pegged soybean harvest in Argentina ended in June at 43.5 million tonnes against 49 million tonnes last year.
As per the USDA, soybean production in Argentina in 2020-21 is at 46.50 million tonnes against 48.80 million tonnes in 2019-20. The US agency has projected soybean crop in Argentina during crop season 2021-22 at 52 million tonnes in its July estimates.
