Mumbai, 30 July (Commoditiescontrol) The district wise rainfall data available with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) shows that a large part of soybean growing region of the country received good rainfall during the this monsoon season so far.
During the week ending on Thursday, the actual rainfall in the major soybean producing districts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan which contribute 80 percent in the total production of soybean in the country, was either normal or excess, except one in Maharashtra.
The cumulative data rainfall data during June 1 to August 28 shows that most of the soyean producing districts, except few, received either normal or excess rains. Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, Baran and Kota in Rajasthan received deficient rains.
Several districts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra received large excess rains causing flood like situation. The experts are of the opinion that flood will affect soybean crop.
