Mumbai, 28 March (Commoditiescontrol) The production of spices has declined 2.7% to 10.82 million tonnes in 2021-22, as per the first advance estimates of Horticulture crops in the country released on Monday by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
The production of spices has increased by 9.7%, from 10.14 Million Tonne in 2019-20 to 11.12 Million Tonne in 2020-21, as per the final advance estimates for 2020-21.
As per the first advance estimates for 2021-22, the production of chillies (dried) is at 18.74 lakh tonnes down from 20.49 lakh tonnes in 2020-21.
The production of cumin seed is at 7.25 lakh tonnes in 2021-22 against 7.95 lakh tonnes in 2020-21.
The production of turmeric is at 11.76 lakh tonnes in 2021-22 against 11.24 lakh tonnes in 2020-21.
The production of black pepper is at 92000 tonnes in 2021-22 against 1.41 lakh tonnes in 2020-21.
