Mumbai, August 9 (Commoditiescontrol) The physical market has received around 67.75 lakh tonnes of mustard seed during March-July and remaining 40.25 lakh tonnes of the crop is current with farmers as the traders’ estimates for mustard seed in the crop year 2021-22 is 108 lakh tonnes, as per the latest report released by Marudhar Trading Agency, a Jaipur based company.
As per the agency’s report, the processors and stockiest were holding 7.75 lakh tonnes of mustard seed by the end of July.
Hence, total stocks of mustard seed are 48 lakh tonnes. The trade analysts have to say that these stocks are sufficient for crushing in seven months starting from Aug2022 to Feb2033.
Arrivals of mustard seed in early 5 months were in diminishing order as 16 lakh tonnes of mustard seed were received in the physical markets across India during March. Arrivals of mustard seed were 15 lakh tonnes in April, 12 lakh tonnes in May, 10 lakh tonnes in June and 7 lakh tonnes in July and average arrivals of the commodity in rest of the 7 months will also come around 7 lakh tonnes.
