New Delhi, 20 July (Commoditiescontrol) Present spell heavy to very heavy rainfall activity is likely to continue today said India Meteorological Department on Tuesday. As monsoon picked up, rainfall activity improves across the country.
As per the latest updates of the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is expected at isolated places over Western Himalayan region and adjoining northwest India including Punjab, Haryana, East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, and northwest Madhya Pradesh.
IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall at most places in Delhi during next 24 hours.
Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is very likely to continue over the west coast and adjoining island areas during next 4-5days. Isolated extremely rainfall is also very likely over Konkan Goa and adjoining Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on July 21-22.
As per the IMD forecast, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls are likely over and adjoining central India on July 22-23.
Moderate to severe thunderstorm with lightning is very likely at isolated places over Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, Bihar Jharkhand Gangetic West Bengal during next 24 hours.
India received 6 percent below normal rains during June 1 to July 19, as per the IMD’s latest updates. East and north east India received 12 percent below normal, while northwest part of the country has 15 below normal rains. Monsoon rains remained 10 percent below normal in central India while south peninsular region received 20 percent above normal rains.
