MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - The small cardamom has created history during the current season with the individual auction average crossing Rs 3,000 a kg level on Tuesday (today).

At the auction conducted today by the Vandanmedu Green Gold Cardamom Producer Co Ltd the auction average has crossed Rs 3,000 a kg to close at Rs 3,180.81. Arrivals stood at 26 tonnes and the entire quantity was sold out. The maximum price fetched was at Rs 3,380 a kg.

Trade sources said that there were no fresh arrivals and what ever volume arrived at the auction at present is of "re-pooled material".

However, this phenomenon keeps pushing the prices to exorbitantly higher levels, they claimed.
