MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Canada-Ukraine origin White Pea at Mumbai/Mundra port upped Rs 450-550/100Kg on Friday.

Postponement of Jaipur High Court’s hearing to 6th March turned out to be a big reason for the White Pea to extend upward strength.

Reason behind the tightness of ready stock lies with the White Pea containers being stuck, at various ports, due to non-issuance of Customs' clearance.

Moreover, imports are unlikely as Government imposed the CIF value of Rs 200 per kg as Minimum Import Price for peas.

Similarly, at Kolkata market, Canada origin White Pea was priced higher at Rs 6,100/100kg and Russia-Ukraine at Rs 5,900-6,000, respectively. But, no actual trade was reported as of now.

As per Kolkata based trader, stocks of Canada White Pea is approximately 15000 tonnes and Russia/Ukraine White Pea around 1500-2000 tonnes. Importers have shifted Canada White pea purchases from Mundra port to Kolkata.
