Mumbai, May 2 (CommoditiesControl): Clove prices continued to maintain stability reflecting a balanced market trend. In Kottayam, imported clove prices remained steady, with Comoros-origin cloves priced between Rs. 840 to Rs. 860 per kilogram, Madagascar-origin between Rs. 850 to Rs. 870, and Sri Lankan-origin between Rs. 850 to Rs. 880/kg
Meanwhile, domestic clove prices in Kottayam showed resilience, holding within the range of Rs 880 to Rs 900 per kilogram over the last fortnight.
The steady prices in the domestic market are attributed to higher imports, which have bolstered the overall supply. However, this increased supply may exert pressure on domestic market prices in the near term.
Similarly, in Shimoga, clove prices remained unchanged from the previous session, ranging between Rs. 900 to Rs. 920 per kilogram. Additionally, clove stems maintained their previous pricing at Rs 125 per kilogram in Kottayam.
