Indore, June 17 (Commodities Control): Today marked a notable decrease in cotton arrivals across Madhya Pradesh's mandis, as reported on the first trading day of the week. Concurrently, there has been a decline in cotton candy prices. However, stability persists in the average prices of Kapas and cotton seed.
The arrival of Kapas in Madhya Pradesh mandis today showed a reduction of 300 bales compared to Saturday, settling between 300 to 400 bales (1 bale = 170 kg). The average price of Kapas remains steady at Rs 6000 to Rs 7200 per quintal. Similarly, there has been no fluctuation in cotton seed prices, maintaining stability at Rs 2850 to Rs 3150 per quintal.
Today, cotton candy prices have witnessed a downturn by Rs 200. In Madhya Pradesh, 29 mm 75 RD cotton is currently priced at Rs 55800 to Rs 56300 per candy (1 candy = 356 kg), while 28.5 mm cotton has seen a decrease of Rs 200, now priced at Rs 55200 to Rs 55600 per candy.
Millers anticipate sporadic cotton arrivals in Madhya Pradesh markets going forward, attributing this trend to farmers increasingly focusing on sowing activities. This shift suggests further declines in cotton arrivals in the upcoming days.
