Mumbai, March 12 (CommoditiesControl): Mentha oil prices continued to show downward trend for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, primarily due to weakened demand. Both the spot market and futures witnessed a decline in mentha oil prices as demand from local industries and overseas markets remained subdued. Traders reported a drop in prices of up to Rs 5 per kg in the spot market today.
In Chandausi market, mentha oil prices quoted at Rs 1025-1027 per kg. Additionally, Barabanki market experienced a decrease in mentha oil prices, reaching Rs 1000 per kg.
The benchmark contract of Mentha oil for delivery in March at the MCX traded Rs 6.40 lower at Rs 934.1 per kg. The market observed an open interest of 591 and a volume of 159.
