New Delhi, April 22 (Commoditiescontrol): Mentha oil prices continued to show bearish trend on Monday, attributed to weak demand from the local industry and futures market. Traders noted that current stocks are at very negligible levels. Despite this, prices are on the decline as synthetic mentha products are available at lower rates.
In Chandausi market, mentha oil prices were quoted at Rs 1006-1008 per kg, while in Barabanki market, prices stood at Rs 974 per kg.
Prices of mentha oil witnessed a decrease of Rs 4 per kg in the physical market today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the benchmark contract of Mentha oil for delivery in April was trading Rs 2.8 down at Rs 891 per kg, with an open interest of 288 and a volume of 204.
Mentha Oil contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 891/quintal showing an fall of Rs -2.8 over previous close of Rs 893.8/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 883-897 for the day. Open interest decreased by -117 MT to 288 MT, while trading volume increased by 32 to 204 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 905.7/quintal showing an fall of Rs -0.9 over previous close of Rs 906.6/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 899-909.8 for the day. Open interest increased by 33 MT to 221 MT, while trading volume increased by 36 to 100 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUNE delivery settled at Rs 910.7/quintal showing an rise of Rs 2.9 over previous close of Rs 907.8/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 905.8-915 for the day. Open interest increased by 75 MT to 237 MT, while trading volume increased by 61 to 119 MT.
Currently The spread between APR and MAY contract is -14.7 Rs/quintal.
Currently The spread between MAY and JUNE contract is -5 Rs/quintal.
Currently The spread between APR and JUNE contract is -19.7 Rs/quintal
