New Delhi, May 14 (Commoditiescontrol): Mentha oil prices experienced a further decline in the physical market on Tuesday, reflecting subdued sentiment amidst reports of favorable crop conditions. Anticipation of upcoming arrivals of fresh crop next month added to the weakening sentiment. However, mentha oil futures managed to recover slightly, edging higher at the local bourse.
In Chandausi, spot mentha oil prices were quoted Rs 2 lower, ranging between Rs 1010 and Rs 1012 per kilogram. Similarly, in Barabanki, prices witnessed a decline of Rs 4, settling at Rs 978 per kilogram.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the mentha oil futures contract for delivery in May showed a modest increase of Rs 2.8, trading at Rs 958.5 per kilogram. The contract exhibited an open interest of 366 and a volume of 76.
Meanwhile, the mentha oil futures contract for delivery in June also demonstrated a slight uptick, rising by Rs 1.8 to Rs 967.1 per kilogram at MCX. This contract reported an open interest of 351 and a volume of 48.
Mentha Oil contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 958.5/quintal showing an rise of Rs 2.8 over previous close of Rs 955.7/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 950.6-961 for the day. Open interest decreased by -10 MT to 366 MT, while trading volume decreased by -36 to 76 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUNE delivery settled at Rs 967.1/quintal showing an rise of Rs 1.8 over previous close of Rs 965.3/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 963.2-974.8 for the day. Open interest increased by 21 MT to 351 MT, while trading volume increased by 24 to 48 MT
Mentha Oil contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 977.5/quintal showing an fall of Rs -0.3 over previous close of Rs 977.8/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 977.5-977.8 for the day. Open interest increased by 1 MT to 9 MT, while trading volume decreased by -2 to 2 MT.
