New Delhi, May 4 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices witnessed a notable rise in Lower Rajasthan on Saturday, attributed to improved procurement from spinning mills, while the daily arrival of Kapas in the state's mandis remained stable.
Traders highlighted that cotton prices had persisted at lower levels in the state over the past four days, leading to the price increase as spinning mills capitalized on the opportunity to procure cotton at reduced rates. Despite weaker-than-normal local demand for cotton yarn in the domestic market, a decline in cotton arrivals has prompted most ginning mills in the state to halt production. Consequently, the potential for further increases in cotton prices hinges upon an uptick in demand for cotton yarn. Kapas prices in the state saw a rise of Rs 50, while cottonseed prices remained stable.
Arrivals of Kapas in the mandis of Lower Rajasthan today remained consistent at 300 bales, with each bale weighing 170 kg, mirroring the arrival figures from the previous trading day.
