Mumbai, May 17 (Commodities Control): The price of cumin saw an upward movement today, driven by heightened demand from spice companies. Prices increased by Rs 50 to Rs 100 per 20 kg, reflecting a positive shift in the market sentiment.
Unjha Mandi, a major trading hub for cumin, recorded robust procurement activities today. A notable arrival of 30,000 bags was reported, indicating strong supply and active trading in the market.
Jeeraunjha contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 29300/quintal showing an rise of Rs 40 over previous close of Rs 29260/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 29300-29700 for the day. Open interest decreased by -18 MT to 138 MT, while trading volume increased by 30 to 78 MT.
Jeeraunjha contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 28180/quintal showing an rise of Rs 350 over previous close of Rs 27830/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 27655-28300 for the day. Open interest increased by 114 MT to 3717 MT, while trading volume increased by 60 to 1944 MT.
Jeeraunjha contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 27460/quintal showing an rise of Rs 185 over previous close of Rs 27275/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26540-27600 for the day. Open interest increased by 24 MT to 120 MT, while trading volume increased by 48 to 87 MT.
