Small Cardamom Prices Sees Slight Uptick; Arrivals Exceed 1.0 Lakh kg

Mumbai, March 18 (CommoditiesControl): Prices for small cardamom have registered a slight increase in major markets, driven by robust demand at lower price points. Market reports indicate that prices have been increased by strong demand at reduced price levels coupled with a decline in arrivals. However, despite this increase, arrivals have surpassed the 1.0 lakh kg mark as prices dipped to Rs 1,300 per kg.

The average price per kilogram has risen from the previous session's range of Rs 1,365-1,403 to Rs 1,420-1,432 in the current session. However, the maximum price per kilogram has seen a decline from Rs 2,568 to Rs 1,964. It's noteworthy that the average price has remained below Rs 1,500 per kg.

Reports indicate that grade-specific rates have stabilized following a period of weakness. Prices for 7 mm grades are ranging from Rs 1,480 to Rs 1,550 per kg, while grades 7-8 mm are priced between Rs 1,600 to Rs 1,700 per kg. Higher-grade variants, measuring 8 mm and above, command prices ranging from Rs 1,900 to Rs 2,000 per kg.



Arrivals have increased from 91,230 kg to 109,296 kg in response to heightened prices. The total offtake has been reported at 105,193 kg, up from 90,542 kg in the previous session, driven by the surge in arrivals. Despite the recent price dip, demand remains robust, with a daily offtake reaching 96.2%.
