Ahmedabad, June 21 (Commodities Control): Coriander prices remained stable in Gujarat on Friday as the market saw a significant arrival of old stock. Around 50 percent of the total arrivals consisted of older goods. Traders reported minimal selling activity, noting that the market would receive support only if export business resumes or if there is an increase in demand from spice companies. Current estimates suggest that there are still 5 to 7 lakh bags of old coriander stock in Gujarat.
Today, Saurashtra received around 9,600 bags of coriander. The average price of coriander in the state ranged from Rs 1350 to Rs 1550 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, out of the pending bags, 4,825 bags, each weighing 40kg, were traded at Rs 1331-1626 per 20 kg. In the Rajkot market, trade was conducted at Rs 1210-1550 with an arrival of 3,500 bags.
The Jamjodhpur market saw an arrival of 1,000 bags. In the Junagadh market, there was an arrival of 1,500 bags, Jetpur received 650 bags, and other markets accounted for around 2,900 bags.

Dhaniya contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 7490/quintal showing an fall of Rs -92 over previous close of Rs 7582/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7456-7568 for the day. Open interest decreased by -1015 MT to 28760 MT, while trading volume increased by 1260 to 3290 MT.
Dhaniya contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 7590/quintal showing an fall of Rs -96 over previous close of Rs 7686/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7550-7650 for the day. Open interest increased by 855 MT to 2060 MT, while trading volume increased by 935 to 1710 MT.
Currently The spread between JUL and AUG contract is -100 Rs/quintal.
