Mumbai, July 3 (CommoditiesControl): Chili prices have demonstrated a mixed trend across major markets due to sluggish domestic demand and a lack of export activity.
Local traders report that end users are not engaging in aggressive buying, contributing to price stability in the short term. However, the absence of increased export demand is expected to put downward pressure on prices.
Total arrivals amounted to 102,000 bags, a decrease of 10,000 bags compared to the previous session. Guntur saw arrivals of 80,000 bags, down by 10,000 bags from the last session. Warangal and Khammam reported stable arrivals of 10,000 and 12,000 bags, respectively. The expected range for non-A/C bag arrivals varies from 19,000 to 12,000 bags per market.
Prices are anticipated to remain within a range-bound pattern with a slight downward bias due to the current excess supply. The low level of export demand further limits the potential for price increases.
Overall, chili prices are expected to face challenges in the short term, with stability likely to persist amid ample supply and stagnant export activity.
