New Delhi, July 12 (Commodities Control): Pepper prices in major domestic markets have continued to decline as buyer activity remains low. Over the past period, prices have dropped by another Rs 200 per quintal. According to local traders, the supply is limited due to large farmers and stockists hesitating to sell their products. Currently, garbled pepper in Cochin costs Rs 68,000 per quintal, while ungarbled pepper is priced at Rs 66,000 per quintal. In Karnataka, pepper prices range between Rs 66,000 and Rs 68,300 per quintal.
In contrast, pepper prices in Vietnam have seen an increase of VND 1,000-2,000 per kg, now ranging from VND 152,000 to VND 153,000 per kilogram. This upward trend is expected to continue in the coming days due to the scarcity of supply. Globally, pepper prices remain stable, except in Indonesia, where a slight increase has been noted.
