Mumbai, May 10 (Commodities Control): Ukraine's grain exports are off to a strong start in May, reaching 1.5 million tonnes in the first ten days, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. This is significantly higher than the 1 million tonnes exported in April.
The total grain exports for the season (which began in July 2023) now stand at 42.9 million tonnes, almost matching last year's figures. Wheat remains the dominant export at 16.4 million tonnes, followed by corn at 23.8 million tonnes.
Despite a positive start to May, flour exports are lagging behind last year, reaching only 88,700 tonnes compared to 132,000 tonnes at this point in 2023.
