Ahmedabad, June 18 (CommoditiesControl): Today, the coriander markets in Gujarat witnessed a notable increase in prices due to reduced arrivals from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. According to traders, the scarcity of coriander arrivals has pushed prices up by Rs 10-20 per 20 kg across various mandis in the state.
In Saurashtra region, excluding Rajkot and Jamjodhpur, several mandis remained closed today, impacting the overall market activity. The reduced arrival of coriander from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh has particularly affected the market dynamics in Gujarat.
Today, around 5000 bags of coriander, each weighing 40 kg, were received in Gujarat. Traders anticipate that if the trend continues, prices could climb further by another 15-20 rupees per 20 kg in the upcoming days. Currently, the average price of coriander in the state ranges between 1350 to 1500 rupees per 20 kg.
In specific markets, such as Jamjodhpur, there was an arrival of 400 bags, while other markets collectively received around 1700 bags of coriander today.
Dhaniya contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 7502/quintal showing an rise of Rs 70 over previous close of Rs 7432/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7500-7638 for the day. Open interest decreased by -270 MT to 330 MT, while trading volume decreased by -155 to 255 MT
Dhaniya contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 7550/quintal showing an rise of Rs 20 over previous close of Rs 7530/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7502-7586 for the day. Open interest increased by 15 MT to 30065 MT, while trading volume decreased by -1345 to 1985 MT
Currently The spread between JUN and JUL contract is -48 Rs/quintal.
