Indore, July 27 (Commodities Control): Cotton candy prices in Madhya Pradesh have experienced a significant decline over the past week. As of July 27, prices for cotton candy have decreased by Rs 1,500 at the lower end and Rs 1,300 at the upper end. At the beginning of the week on July 22, cotton candy was priced between Rs 58,000 and Rs 58,300 per candy. By the end of the week, prices have fallen to a range of Rs 56,500 to Rs 57,000, reflecting a drop of Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,300.
Despite the price decrease, Kapas arrivals in Madhya Pradesh markets have been notably low. Throughout the week, limited arrivals noted on only two trading days. The remaining days saw no arrivals.
In addition to the decline in cotton candy prices, cottonseed prices have also declined slightly during the week, dropping by Rs 100 at both the upper and lower levels. Current cottonseed prices are quoted between Rs 3,100 and Rs 3,400 per quintal.
On the last trading day of the week, July 27, the market saw no cotton arrivals. Cotton candy prices fell by an additional Rs 300 on this day. The prices for 29 mm 75 RD cotton are now trading at Rs 56,500 (-300) to Rs 57,000 (-300) per candy (356 kg). The prices for 28.5 mm cotton are reported at Rs 56,000 to Rs 56,500 per candy. Cottonseed prices have remained stable at Rs 3,100 to Rs 3,400 per quintal.
Rainfall in cotton-producing areas of Madhya Pradesh has improved, which may impact future market conditions.
