Ahmedabad, 27 July (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market in Gujarat has experienced a slowdown, with both arrival and price levels remaining stable. Traders attribute this to a lack of significant trade activities both locally and in export markets. As the festival season approaches next month, market dynamics are expected to depend heavily on local demand. Currently, farmers and stockists hold substantial stocks of cumin, which could lead to an increase in market arrivals if prices rise.
In Unjha Mandi, a key market for cumin, around 5000 bags were reported today. Prices for rough cumin ranged between Rs 4400-4600 per 20 kg, while the best quality cumin was priced at Rs 4900-5100 per 20 kg. The price of Bombay Bold cumin stood at Rs 5100-5250 per 20 kg. Overall, Gujarat saw a total arrival of 8000 bags of cumin.
In Gondal Mandi, 416 bags were traded at Rs 4871-5061 per 20 kg, and in Rajkot Mandi, 500 bags were received with prices ranging from Rs 4400-5035 per 20 kg.
