Small Cardamom Gains Sharply On Low-Level Demand

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Small cardamom prices gained by Rs 280 per kg at major auction centres in Kerala on Thursday due to the increase in demand at existing lower levels.

The auctioneers offered 19 tonnes of spice. Of which 18.7 tonnes of spice was sold. The average price realized was Rs 3247.54 per kg. While the highest price quoted for selected lots was Rs 3,779 per kg.

The cardamom March contract on MCX settled higher by Rs 112.80 or 4 percent at Rs 2,933.60/kg.

According to traders,, prices were up today as demand emerged at lower levels after the one-sided decline of the previous days. During the last one month, there has been a fall in prices by around 25 percent.
