Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Red chilli prices were stable in Guntur mandi of Andhra Pradesh amid dull trading session due to surge in Covid-19 cases.Mandi registered arrivals of 40,000 bags. All of these stocks arrived from cold stores.

Farmers and traders are scared alike. Rising virus cases have reduced the number of traders and commission agents operating in the mandis. Most of the framers and traders are preferring to book their deals at the warehouses rather than coming to the mandis. This is the reason why mandi rates are unchanged.

‘Teja’ red chilli variety in Guntur was quoted at Rs 115-135, 334 and S4 variety was priced at Rs 95-75 and Byadgi was quoted at Rs 110-130 per kg. Indo-5 was quoted at Rs 115-135 per Kg, while 341 and S10 were priced at Rs 120-140 and Rs 80-100, respectively.
