MUMBAI (Commodities Control) – Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh origin new Chana traded unchanged at Lawrence road market of Delhi, on Thursday, amid limited mill buying.

Less supplies and firm futures failed to support chana prices.

Mills are purchasing just to satisfy immediate processing requirements, due to thin demand in chana dal and besan from the consumption centres.

Rajasthan and M.P origin new chana traded flat each, at Rs 4,400/100kg and Rs 4,325, respectively.

8 truckloads of supply arrived in the market today, down from 15 truckloads in the previous session.

Supply from Madhya Pradesh origin was lower due to disparity.

Chana September futures were trading 0.2 percent or Rs 7 higher at Rs 4,271/100kg on National commodity & Derivatives Exchange Ltd (NCDEX).

Current price level in Chana is attractive for millers/traders due to cheaper pulses, as per a local trader. Even consumption is likely to increase in coming days due to commencement of festive period until Diwali.
