NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Mustard seed and oil prices bounced back today on strong demand from millers. The oil seed shot up Rs. 100 to Rs. 6100-6105 per quintal in Jaipur. Mustard oil and oil cake also followed seed. While, total arrival of mustard seed reduced to 75,000 quintal in all the major producing areas.
According to market source, Recent price fall made mustard seed very attractive preposition. Mustard seed prices fell down around Rs. 300 per quintal in last couple of days. While, retail prices of mustard oil did not fall in such proportion. Lower prices also made seed attractive at present juncture. Almost three month still left in current consumption cycle. Millers rushed for buying at lower prices. So the prices shot up Rs. 100 per quintal. Mustard seed prices increased to Rs. 6100-6105 per quintal in Jaipur. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. 6000-6005 per quintal in Jaipur. Mustard oil jumped to Rs. 1201-1202 in Jaipur and 1191-1192 per 10 kg. in adjoining areas. Earlier, the oil was priced at Rs. 1181-1182 in Jaipur and 1171-1172 per 10 kg. in adjoining areas. Mustard oil cake gained to Rs. 2595-2600 per quintal. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. 2580-2585 per quintal.
Total arrival was 75,000 quintal in across the country. State wise arrival- Rajasthan 40,000, MP 5,000, UP 10,000, HP 5,000, Gujarat 5000 and other states 10,000 bags.
