New Delhi, June 8 (Commoditiescontrol) After entering early, the monsoon has stuck in northeast and south and its pace of progress is expected to remain slow presently as 65% parts of India witnessed large deficient rains in the early one week of the monsoon season which normally starts with June 1.
Southwest monsoon has further advanced over some more pats of Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, southwest and westcentral Bay of Bengal, said IMD on Wednesday. According to the weather scientist, at present the conditions are not favourable and the strong westerly wind is also affecting the advancement of monsoon. Gujarat and Saurashtra region remained complete dry.
As per the IMD’s data, entire northwest and central India, main kharif crops growing region, remained either dry or received large deficient rains.
The total area remain dry or large deficient rains constitutes 70% part of India and that is the prime land for cropping of paddy, maize, pulses, oilseeds, sugarcane, cotton and other crops
