Jaipur, October 3 (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed prices fell sharply in the domestic market on Monday as more than sufficient stocks are available for rest 5 months of crushing. Prices of edible oils were also down which pressured mustard seed prices.
Mustard oil prices fell further today as the demand is as per the very short-term requirement. The participants are expecting more downside in the prices of oil.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned dropped Rs 75 to Rs 6200-6225 per quintal (excluding GST) in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices dropped Re 1 to Rs 1247-1248 per 10kg and Kachchi Ghani was also offered Re 1 lower at Rs 1257-1258 per 10kg.
Mustard cake prices were flat at Rs 2415-2420 per quintal.
Arrivals of mustard seed were estimated 85000 bags in Rajasthan, 10000 bags in Madhya Pradesh, 35,000 bags in Uttar Pradesh, 15,000 bags in Haryana and Punjab, 5,000 bags in Gujarat, and 35,000 bags in other markets. Total arrivals across the country were around 1.85 lakh bags of 80 kg each, up 10,000 bags from last session.
The stocks of mustard seed at the end of September were 28.75 lakh tonnes. Total arrivals from March to September were estimated by a Jaipur based agency at 79.25 lakh tonnes out of total production at 108 lakh tonnes.
