Jaipur, Nov 29 (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed complex witnessed a recovery on Wednesday amid improved buying at lower level. Retail and wholesale demand for mustard oil boosted buying in mustard seed while cake prices stayed steady.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned gained Rs 25 to Rs 6825-6850 per quintal (excluding GST) in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices further gained Rs 3 to Rs 1383-1384 per 10kg and prices of Kachchi Ghani also rose Rs 3 to Rs 1393-1394 per 10kg.
Mustard cake prices stayed steady at Rs 2600-2605 per quintal.
Arrivals of mustard seed were estimated one lakh bags in Rajasthan, 25,000 bags in Madhya Pradesh,30,000 bags in Uttar Pradesh, 20,000 bags in Haryana and Punjab, 10,000 bags in Gujarat, and 65,000 bags in other markets. Total arrivals across the country were around 2.5 lakh bags of 80 kg each, down 5000 bags from last session.
Area under mustard seed rose by 8.73 lakh ha to 70.89 lakh ha as on Nov 25 this rabi season.
