Mumbai, 13 Mar 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Kabuli chana prices in Indore and surrounding markets have increased for the second consecutive session. This rise is attributed to robust demand and a decline in arrivals. Market analysts anticipate farmers will hold their produce in expectation of further price increases, potentially leading to even tighter supplies and higher prices.Delhi market also witnessed rise in small size kabuli chana price .
In the Indore mandi, prices climbed by Rs 500 per quintal, with average daily arrivals dropping to 5,000/6,000 bags compared to 8,000/10,000 bags previously. Container prices have also risen by Rs 300 per quintal.
Harvesting is approaching its peak but will likely continue through the month. However, financial year-end pressures and the upcoming Holi festival are expected to limit arrivals in the near term.
Markets will be closed from March 24th to April 2nd for Holi. This closure, combined with declining arrivals, suggests further price increases are possible. The pace of arrivals after Holi will play a crucial role in determining future market prices.
