New Delhi, March 29 (Commodities Control): The mentha oil market witnessed firm prices in the spot market today, supported by improved buying at lower levels. However, future trading remained closed due to the observance of Good Friday.
According to trade sources, there is an expectation of a decrease in the area under mentha crop compared to last year, as the farmers couldn’t get remunerative prices in the previous session.
The current stocks of mentha oil are reported to be negligible. Despite this, demand from the local industry remains weak, posing a challenge to the market trend.
In Chandausi market, mentha oil prices saw a gain of Rs 4, reaching Rs 1030-1032 per kg. Similarly, prices in the Barabanki market were quoted higher at Rs 995 per kg.
