Mentha Oil Prices Rise Amid Improved Buying Activity

New Delhi, April 23 (Commoditiescontrol): Mentha oil prices witnessed an upward trend on Tuesday, fueled by expectations of enhanced buying activity at lower levels. Futures staged a rebound, subsequently driving prices higher in the spot market as well.

In Chandausi market, mentha oil prices rose by Rs 4 to reach Rs 1010-1012 per kilogram. Similarly, prices in the Barabanki market saw an increase of Rs 2, reaching Rs 976 per kilogram.

At the MCX, mentha oil futures for April delivery saw an increase of Rs 3.8, trading at Rs 896 per kilogram, with an open interest of 213 and a volume of 116. Meanwhile, the mentha oil future contract for April delivery traded Rs 3.7 higher at Rs 909 per kilogram on the MCX, with an open interest of 268 and a volume of 89.

The rise in mentha oil prices reflects renewed buying interest, particularly at lower price levels, signaling a positive sentiment in the market.

Mentha Oil contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 896/quintal showing an rise of Rs 3.8 over previous close of Rs 892.2/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 890.1-897 for the day. Open interest decreased by -75 MT to 213 MT, while trading volume decreased by -88 to 116 MT.


Mentha Oil contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 909/quintal showing an rise of Rs 3.7 over previous close of Rs 905.3/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 903.1-910 for the day. Open interest increased by 47 MT to 268 MT, while trading volume decreased by -11 to 89 MT.

Mentha Oil contract for JUNE delivery settled at Rs 914/quintal showing an rise of Rs 2.7 over previous close of Rs 911.3/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 911-917.8 for the day. Open interest increased by 7 MT to 244 MT, while trading volume decreased by -90 to 29 MT.

Currently The spread between APR and MAY contract is -13 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between MAY and JUNE contract is -5 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between APR and JUNE contract is -18 Rs/quintal.
