New Delhi, April 26 (Commoditiescontrol): The mentha oil market witnessed slow activities on Friday, with prices maintaining stability in the market of Chandausi while a weak tone prevailed in other markets. Futures also remained under pressure.
In the Chandausi market, mentha oil prices remained flat at Rs 1012-1014 per kg. However, in the Barabanki market, prices of mentha oil were quoted Rs 4 down at Rs 978 per kg.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), mentha oil futures for delivery in April were trading Rs 2.2 down at Rs 916.5 per kg, with open interest of 86 and volume of 13. Similarly, the mentha oil future contract for delivery in May was trading Rs 2.5 down at Rs 926 per kg at MCX, with open interest of 356 and volume of 93.
The sluggish activities in the mentha oil market reflect a subdued market sentiment, with prices showing signs of weakness in certain markets and futures trading under pressure.
Mentha Oil contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 916.5/quintal showing an fall of Rs -2.2 over previous close of Rs 918.7/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 916.2-920 for the day. Open interest decreased by -30 MT to 86 MT, while trading volume increased by 10 to 13 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 926/quintal showing an fall of Rs -2.5 over previous close of Rs 928.5/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 921-932.9 for the day. Open interest decreased by -11 MT to 356 MT, while trading volume increased by 9 to 93 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUNE delivery settled at Rs 929.9/quintal showing an rise of Rs 1.1 over previous close of Rs 928.8/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 925.1-938.5 for the day. Open interest increased by 13 MT to 270 MT, while trading volume increased by 6 to 33 MT.
