New Delhi, March 04 (Commodities Control): In the Urad market, divergent trends are observed between the prices of imported Urad and Indian Urad.
Prices for Burma's Urad are reported to be on a decline, primarily attributed to low demand from Indian counterparts. Slow trading activity is noted due to ongoing harvesting activities in Andhra Pradesh, a key Urad-growing state in India.
Prices for Burma Urad FAQ witnessed a decrease in Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, but showed an increase in Delhi. SQ (Sound Quality) Urad experienced a slight decrease in Chennai and Delhi.
Desi Urad prices remained stable in major markets of South India (Guntur and Vijayawada), Jaipur, and Indore. The stability is attributed to strong demand from millers.
Overall, Urad prices in the Indian market remained stable to firm, driven by robust demand. The tight demand-supply balance is expected to limit sharp declines in prices.
The Urad market presents a scenario of divergent trends, with prices of imported Urad experiencing a downward trend while Indian Urad prices remain stable to firm. The ongoing harvesting activities in key cultivation regions and the demand-supply dynamics in both domestic and international markets are key factors influencing price movements.
