Mumbai, 02 Apr 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Masur prices remained stable today across most major Indian mandis. While several markets were closed, they are expected to reopen tomorrow. Market analysts anticipate an increase in arrivals starting next week.
Bilty masur prices generally reflected this stability. However, Kanpur and Delhi saw price increases of Rs 25-50 per quintal in response to localized demand.
Imported masur prices largely mirrored domestic quotes, with Delhi and Kolkata experiencing slight increases of Rs 25-50 per quintal. Unfavorable weather conditions have reportedly impacted the quality of the current domestic crop, potentially supporting demand and prices for imported masur.
The future trajectory of masur prices will depend on the pace at which new crop arrivals gain momentum, as well as the extent of government procurement activities.
